Who are we?

Now celebrating our 50th anniversary, Ogden Regional Medical Center’s ACT is one of this state’s most established recovery programs. Our specialized addiction treatment program has been serving the Greater Salt Lake City, Utah community since 1973. With a dedicated and experienced staff, our Alcohol and Chemical Treatment Center (ACT) offers services that are time proven, evidence based and effective.

Our program is one of the oldest and most respected alcohol and drug treatment facilities in Utah. By working with our addiction specialists, a growing number of our patients have conquered their substance addictions through comprehensive, individualized treatment plans. By partnering with family and friends, we help guide patients through drug addiction recovery process – one step at a time.

The goal of ACT is to bring our interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists, counselors and recreational therapist to assist patients in identifying their own strengths and to develop the coping skills they need to achieve long-term recovery. Treatment staff members assist patients in identifying community resources, supports and referrals they need to be successful. All this is done by assisting patients and their family identify their substance use behaviors, triggers, co-occurring disorders and motivation for change.

Who do we treat?

We treat adults, ages 18 and older.

The addiction and mental health, often, go hand in hand and people often experience both of them at the same time. The ACT is licensed as a dual diagnosis program where both addiction and mental health can be addressed and treated. Our treatment includes psychiatrists and physicians who are board certified addictionologist. The nurses, substance use counselors, social workers, behavioral health technicians and recreational therapists also specialize in addiction and mental health treatment. The staff work as a team under the direction of our Medical Director, who is a physician. Other specialists may be ordered by your attending physician, if required.

How do we treat?

ACT offers state of the art, structured and extensively researched treatment interventions for all levels of acuity: from inpatient detox to Intensive Outpatient Services. ACT patients experience a variety of treatment modalities tailored to the individual and their needs. This allows patient to take advantage of every level of care. Treatment offers patients the opportunity to participate in treatment groups, psychoeducational groups, individual counseling, structured activities, off site treatment outings and many other treatment-oriented components.
